Pipefitting Principals and Code

 

Students enrolled in this program will be well prepared to pass the Massachusetts Journeyman and Master Pipefitter exams while earning the Credit Hours required by Massachusetts regulations .

 

Pipe Fitting I: 100 Credit Hours.

1-      Introduction to heating and power Boilers

2-      Massachusetts Regulations 522 CMR 1-17

3-      Massachusetts Regulations 528 CMR 10

4-      Introduction to Section I and Section IX of the ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes

5-      Review of power piping code

 

      Cost: $1200 + Books and Handouts

 

Pipe Fitting II: 100 Credit Hours

1-      Review of section I of ASME code and vessel pressure code

2-      Introduction to section IV of ASME code and vessel pressure code

3-      Math for pipe fitters

4-      Steam system piping and support

 

      Cost: $1200 + Books and Handouts

 

Pipe Fitting III: 150 Credit Hours

1-      Introduction to ASME/ANSI B 31.1 power piping

2-      Review of simple pipe stress analysis

3-      Math and physical science related to steam systems

4-      Review of section IX of the ASME boiler and vessel pressure code

5-      Installation, repair, alteration and maintenance of steam piping systems rated at 700,000 BTU/hour or greater
